Friday, 10th October.

After working on a new jingle for a while, I came down stairs to have a cup of tea at the small tea stall near my office building. The Road Often Travelled On

While english literature has no word to describe a highly dilapidated land mass of this form, for the sake of simplicity, lets call this - A Road.

Since this road (?), once taken with great guts, eventually leads to a place called Doddanekkundi, lets call it - The Doddanekkundi Road.

The other day, i woke up earlier than usual and decided to go to my office
rather early.... by about 7 :00 AM since i was feeling bored at home. It was
a national holiday so the newly opened canteen upstairs of my office
building was closed.....

A bike parked on the road with a "No Parking" sign (with no other vehicles
parked around) gets towed and the owner gets fined in Namma Bengaluru....
Its a different story if your bike has the company of other vehicles under
the No Parking sign though... especially if it happens to be a car.

Huh.... Finally, I have my two new Ratnam fountain pens (Size 302) in my
hands...! This is a pen company founded in 1932 and its first fountain pen

The title says it all....

I was at the office canteen yesterday on the terrace and was just gazing
around. Suddenly, I noticed the usually very smooth road junction at our
office building slowly getting clogged with traffic.... This was an unusual
sight (generally speaking). So I did a closer inspection and found these two

As part of my continued love for fountain pens, these are my latest prized
possesions... A set of two 'Advocate ' ebonite fountain pens! These are
rather large, measuring 6.5 inches each.....!!

I bought these on my recent trip to Hyderabad after hunting for this shop
called "The Deccan Pen Store" which deals with antique hand made fountain
pens.

Wow..! Which is this Road in Bangalore?

Those who live in this area will surely know the road I am talking about.
This is the Doddanekkundi Main Road near Marathalli. As a resident of the
area I am used to seeing the good old, battered Doddanekkundi Main Road
everyday. In fact I don't even think it qualifies to be called a road at
all...because... There is no road.! I am one of those hundreds of people who

This is how it looks half way through! Brilliant.... Simply brilliant....!!

On the face value of it, it just looks that the entire road has been done
up. But nothing has changed... Talk about politicians playing tricks on the
janatha to get their votes..! I don't know if this has anything to do with the
upcoming elections in Karnataka but I have a feeling it [...]

This is a rather unusual board i came across during my stay in one of the
cottages in Tirupati. I have grown up seeing girls/women filling up
application forms saying 'xyz' D/o or W/o etc.... But our man, so sweetly
likes to be addressed as H/o Srimathi M.Padmini......!!

Now, that's something new to me... :-))

I have always been amused with the way shops have very "creatively mis -
spelt boards". The last one i can remember is of some stall in a local
exhibition in my home town, Vizag (way back in the 90s). The board said
"Komal Kasmaatiks".... ( Trust me, I am not joking!). As a school going kid,
it took me a while to understand what this guy's shop offered.
